👶 Humble Beginnings
Born in Uganda to a family of Pakistani heritage, Arif Virani’s life was uprooted when Idi Amin expelled Asians from Uganda in the 1970s. His family fled as refugees, arriving in Canada with almost nothing. They settled in Toronto, where Arif grew up in a working-class household, learning the values of resilience and hard work.
